Umer Latif
M.H Counselor / Psychotherapist
A BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) registered (Reg # 392959) Psychotherapist based in Lahore, offering individual therapy to adults from diverse backgrounds. My journey into mental health began after 6 years in the banking sector, where I realized my true passion lay in understanding the human mind and helping people heal. In 2015, I transitioned into the field of psychotherapy and completed my Certificate and Diploma in Therapeutic Counseling from a CPCAB-certified institution in the United Kingdom.
Over the past seven years, I have provided more than 5,000 hours of therapy to clients across South Asia, North America, and Europe, including members of the LGBTQ community. My practice is guided by a humanistic and psychodynamic framework, integrating Somatic (body-based) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to facilitate clients in healing from trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, and relational conflicts.
I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and specialize in working with individuals recovering from childhood trauma, emotional neglect, and complex attachment patterns. My approach is deeply empathetic, ethical, and client-centered — creating a safe and non-judgmental environment for you to explore your emotions, process pain, and build lasting change.
I’m also an IFS (Internal Family Systems) informed caregiver. Its a transformationally effective way of healing trauma by understanding ourselves through our parts.
Beyond my private practice, I have also worked as a Mental Health Counselor at Lahore Grammar School (LGS) Gulberg, where I provided therapeutic support to over 1,000 students and staff members. My work included addressing issues like bullying, anxiety, substance abuse, and stress management, along with conducting workshops on mental wellness and emotional awareness.
I’ve also been invited to national morning TV shows to discuss important mental health topics such as child abuse prevention, effective parenting, and teenage suicide awareness — advocating for greater mental health awareness and emotional literacy in our society.
At the heart of my practice is a simple belief — healing begins with understanding. I’m committed to helping every client feel seen, supported, and empowered to lead a more balanced and fulfilling life.

Absolutely, therapy with me is completely confidential. I’m bound by professional ethics and legal standards to protect your privacy and keep everything we discuss secure. There are only a few exceptions—such as if there’s a risk of harm to yourself or others—and I’ll explain those clearly during our first session.
My therapy fees are standard how ever in exceptional cases there is a sliding scale rule.
In our first session, we’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’d like to work on, and any goals you have in mind. I’ll ask some questions to better understand your background and needs, and you’ll have the chance to ask me anything as well. It’s an open space for you to see if you feel comfortable and supported working with me.
The length of therapy really depends on your personal goals and what you’d like to work on. Some people find short-term therapy helpful for specific concerns, while others prefer ongoing sessions for deeper exploration and growth. We’ll discuss your needs together and decide on a pace and duration that feel right for you.
There’s no specific preparation required. However, it can be helpful to think about your goals and what you hope to achieve through therapy. You can also jot down any questions or concerns you want to discuss in your first session.
